Glossary and getting medical help

Plain-language definitions of terms used across the app, and when to talk to a healthcare professional instead.

Glossary

  1. 1

    Today

Your home screen — shows the one action most worth focusing on right now.

  2. 2

    Program

The 90-Day Starter Program — your structured, week-by-week path.

  3. 3

    Check-in

A short weekly review of activity and what got in the way, if anything.

  4. 4

    Progress

Trends over time in weight (if applicable), activity, and program completion.

  5. 5

    Coach

Guidance based on your own logged patterns — not a doctor.

  6. 6

    Risk-factor summary

A non-diagnostic summary of the risk factors from your onboarding answers.

  7. 7

    Main barrier

An optional check-in field for the main thing that got in the way that week, if anything did.

  8. 8

    Plan for next week

An optional check-in field for one thing you'll try next week — not a report on this one.

  9. 9

    5% goal

A primary weight target — 5% of your starting body weight — used in proven prevention programs, where appropriate for your profile.

  10. 10

    7% stretch goal

A further, optional target — 7% of your starting body weight — for those who want to keep going past the 5% goal.

When to talk to a healthcare professional instead

Speak with a qualified healthcare professional — not the app — about: diagnosis, abnormal lab results, medication, pregnancy, symptoms, treatment, or whether weight loss is medically appropriate for you.

Prediabetes.life is not an emergency service. If you believe you’re having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
