Measurements and units (metric vs. Imperial)

How to enter height, weight, and waist measurements in either Metric or Imperial units.

Metric or Imperial — your choice

You can enter your measurements in Metric (kilograms, centimeters) or Imperial (pounds; feet and inches) — pick whichever you’re used to. The app converts and stores your values consistently behind the scenes, so switching units later doesn’t lose your data.

Height in Imperial is entered as feet and inches separately (for example, 5 ft 7 in). Waist measurement can be entered in centimeters or inches depending on your unit preference.

Measurements entered in Imperial units (pounds, feet/inches).

Why these are requested

Height, weight, and waist measurement are used together with your other onboarding answers to calculate your starting risk-factor summary and, where a weight goal is appropriate for you, your 5% and 7% weight targets.

Not every profile gets an automatic weight-loss goal — that’s expected, not an error. See “Why don’t I have a weight goal?” in the Onboarding guide.

Changing your unit preference later

Settings has a unit-preference control so you can switch between Metric and Imperial at any time; your stored measurements are shown converted, not re-entered.
